Up to this stage in my practice all my work has involved careful planning and design decisions to made mainly before making the work, however with the project ‘10 Objects in 10 Days’ I tried to challenge this technique giving myself a time frame to work to in which meant time was precious. This allowed me to become bold in practice, giving myself the confidence to become more creative and fast at working. I gave myself specific 1 day explorations to make work, reinventing everyday objects that I found lying around, creating new experiences and persepctives for the viewer. Previously my work has developed an unpractical focus however, during this project I wnated to explore the combination of art and design though both practicality and impracticality of the objects functionality, allowing a bit of freedom for an endless amount of possibilities and outcomes. The idea for this project was inspired from my research of Martino Gamper’s 100 Chairs in 100 days.
